License Activation
In this article:
EventIDE requires a valid license to run outside of the trial period. License activation is performed per computer and can be completed online or offline. Permanent licenses require only a single activation on each machine and remain valid for all EventIDE versions released before or within the license’s update subscription period. Short-term licenses, however, must be reactivated for each new term. When a short-term license is extended, the user receives a new license key that must be activated again on the target computer.
License Activation
To activate your EventIDE license:
Open the License Manager
Launch EventIDE and go to the Application Menu → License Manager. The License Manager window displays the current licensing status and available activation options.
Enter Your License Key
Paste the license key you received upon purchase. The license key enables full use of EventIDE and unlocks access to all versions released within your updates subscription period.
Online Activation
If your computer has an active internet connection:
Click Activate after entering your license key.
EventIDE will connect to the licensing server and activate the license.
A confirmation message will appear, and your license status will update to “Active.”
Offline Activation
If the computer does not have internet access, use the offline procedure:
On the Offline Computer
Open License Manager and enter your license key.
Click Activate, and save the generated license file (License.lic).
On a Computer with Internet Access
Transfer the license file to a computer with internet access (e.g., via USB)
Open the activation page: http://ws.okazolab.com/license/AuthenticateFile.aspx
Upload the license file and click “Authenticate”
Download the authenticated license file (AuthenticatedLicense.lic)
Back on the Offline Computer
Transfer the response file back to the computer without internet access.
In the License Manager, click Import the License File button at the bottom of the window, and select the authenticated license file to complete the activation.
Updates Subscription Activation
An EventIDE license includes an update subscription period that determines which versions you can install and use:
Permanent licenses include a free update subscription valid for 1–5 years, depending on the purchased option.
Short-term licenses include an update subscription for the entire duration of the license, so all versions released during that period are available to install.
When a new version of EventIDE is released:
If it falls within your active updates subscription period, you can install and use it without any further steps.
If it falls outside your subscription period (for permanent licenses), you must renew your update subscription before installing the new version.
To renew your update subscription (for permanent licenses):
Contact our team or purchase Updates Access through our website.
Wait for confirmation that your updates subscription has been renewed.
Open the License Manager and click Sync to update your license data.
Your current subscription period is always displayed in the License Manager window.
Transferring Your License to a New Computer
If your license key allows only one activation, or you need to move your license from one machine to another (e.g. due to hardware replacement or upgrade), follow these steps:
Deactivate License on the Old Computer
Open License Manager on the original machine.
Click Deactivate. This will revoke the activation and free it up for reuse.
Activate on the New Computer
Install EventIDE on the new machine.
Open License Manager, enter your license key, and proceed with online or offline activation.
Tip: You can always download the EventIDE installer directly or get the link to the installer from Application Menu → Updates.
If you are unable to access the old computer (e.g. it was lost, damaged, or reformatted), contact OkazoLab Support and request a license reset. Please include your license key and a brief explanation.
Managing Licenses Across Multiple Computers
Some EventIDE licenses permit activation on more than one computer. Contact OkazoLab Support to confirm the number of allowed activations.
Each activation is linked to the hardware of the machine where it is used, so transferring a license from one computer to another always requires deactivating it on the original machine first.
Common Issues & Troubleshooting
Invalid Key Format: Check for spaces or incorrect characters when pasting your license key.
Firewall Restrictions (Online Activation): Ensure EventIDE can access the internet through your system’s firewall or proxy.
Offline Activation Failed: Ensure you're using the correct response file generated for the same machine.
Subscription Outdated: You can still use older EventIDE versions released within your original subscription period. You can always the download older versions of EventIDE from Application Menu → Updates.
With a valid license and updates subscription, you can fully unlock EventIDE’s capabilities and receive all eligible updates during your subscription term.
